de points on a personal compass

Errancy, romances with my self-invention

Long, I have been a humble beginner

To the distance, I look back from my un-rootedness

The soil in this land is too loose to belittle me

the comedy of our constitution

twas the height of my bored ness and stale monotony of other TV channels that I finally caught a glimpse of today’s Rajya Sabha session.

Quite a sight it is, I must say. These are the errors in the comedy……In the comedy of our constitution.

Here is a recap.

(Samajwadi Party protesting the introduction of the Constitution (108th amendment) Bill 2008.)

SP Members: “SAMVIDHAN KI RAKSHA KARO” Yell!

Hon’ able Speaker: “Please baith jaiye.”

SP: “SAMVIDHAN KI RAKSHA KARO” Yell Yell!!

Hon’ able Speaker: “Please. Let me speak.”

SP: “SAMVIDHAN KI RAKSHA KARO” Yell!!

Hon’ able Speaker: “I have an obituary announcement. Please let me speak. Please.”

SP: “SAMVIDHAN KI RAKSHA KARO.” Yell Yell!!

Speaker: “ PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” Cry!!

Finally they shut up! Speaker announces the sad demise of Pt. Kishan Maharaj, the great Tabla player. Hon’ able members of Parliament observe silence for a few seconds.
No points for guessing what took place THE VERY NEXT MOMENT!

SP: “SAMVIDHAN KI RAKSHA KARO.”

Speaker: (NAHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN. BHAGWAN KE LIYE MUJHE CHHORR DOH!!!) “The session is adjourned till 12 ‘o’ clock.”

From what I read, in the high voltage drama, SP Member Abu Asim Azmi under ‘a rage of fury’ tried to snatch the copy from Law Minister H R Bharadwaj. But the Charlie’s Angels, Renuka Chaudhary, Jayanti Natarajan n Kumari Selja, and a few other party members pushed him away. (So many women to handle one man! Now tell me, do we need more women in Parliament or not?)

The poor guy will now have to face the necessary action from the Privileges Committee. By de way at a certain point of time he was also known to be “Dawood’s Man”! (Ahem) Money mouth!
How about a ‘Women’s Preservation Bill’ in the next meet?

Nevertheless, the Bill has been introduced and as per Sushma Swaraj it isn’t going to bounce back. The hope has been prevailing since 1996. If it is brought back for amendments, watch out for more action!

a gauging heart :P

in the soiree of lamp and night

I get to a place, out of stillness

From de gravity of ur thoughts

De never changing change,
Gallows around me neck
But this time, I smile as I greet and accept
My savior is here at last!

My priced possessions, Fail to fascinate
A distant ship, which travels
Frisking de horizon when it’s dark
De water awakes, and excitingly then
Looks for its caller in me reflection
Strange, I have one? whenI am only a wallowed past

But it ‘ld not appease for an answer
It shows no sign of surprise
Long it has made truce with waking
Before de morning has arrived!

Then is it only for me?
To change and still not be

A sudden chorus arouses, and
My lone lair is approached
I do realize de time isn’t yet here
i am lonely but not used to be alone

a wedding of two worlds

when hope cooke, a graduate of the Sarah Lawrence college in bronxville, new york, came to Darjeeling for a holiday in 1959, she could not have dreamt that her life as a Manhattan debutante was going to change forever. but it did. in Darjeeling she met de widowed crown prince of sikkim, palden thondup namgyal. palden himself had become the crown prince because of an accident of fate: born as the second son he was trained to head a lamasery 'til de death of his elder brother in an air crash made him the heir to de throne. hope n palden fell in love, and decided to marry. it was on 20th may 1963 that hope cooke became hope namgyal, de future gyalmo of sikkim.

de last Chogyal 'palden thondup' with his wife, gyalmo 'hope cooke '
